One of my life mantras, something I share with my students all the time, and how I have tried to live each day, is Do what you can, where you are, with what you have.
Make art about giving of your time, your resources, about the power of volunteering,about how much volunteering is needed. Or make art about having received the benefit of volunteers.

Make art about what’s being lost, about a loss of leadership.
Adanna Literary Journal is accepting poetry, fiction, essay, and book
review submissions until May 1 for the Fall 2019 issue.
“We are looking for work that is devoted to the women’s experience. All
topics must in some way explore women’s issues or experiences such as
motherhood, loss, issues of inequality, romantic relationships, the
experience of being a daughter, caretaker, etc. We also welcome work
from the male perspective on these topics.”

Today, children in some 100 countries are walking out of school to push for global action on climate change. Over the last four months, hundreds of thousands of young people from many countries participated in demonstrations against climate change.
Make art about children leading the way. Or about climate change.
